How to reach Oudewater by car
Oudewater is on the regional road form Utrecht to Gouda (N228) and not far from A12.
A12 from Rotterdam/ The Hague/ Utrecht
Take exit 13 from the A12 highroad (Nieuwerbrug- Driebruggen – Oudewater). On the roundabout at the end of the exit, follow the signpost direction Oudewater (2nd exit, along the petrol station). Follow the road, traffic tunnel to cross the railroad, keep right at the roundabout (1st exit) and follow the road in the direction of Oudewater.
A12 from Utrecht

The inner city of Oudewater has a blue zone, meaning compulsory use of a parking disc with your arrival time visible behind the wind screen. The city plan shows all available parking lots. All parking is free of charge, but several streets have no parking, and cars on a prohibited place risk being towed away.
How to reach Oudewater by public transport
Four coach lines go to and from Oudewater. The timetables and stops are on the Connexxion website.
Bus 107 rides between Gouda and Utrecht vv. The bus stops, among others, in De Meern, Montfoort, Oudewater and Haastrecht.
Bus 207 is a speed service at rush hours from Oudewater to Utrecht. This bus stops only in Montfoort and Utrecht railway station.
Bus 105 rides between Oudewater and Woerden railway station, and it stops in Linschoten only.
Bus 505 is a local bus (= ‘buurtbus’), riding from Monday till Saturday every hour between Schoonhoven and Woerden. It is limited to 8 seats, and cannot take wheelchairs. The Public Transport chipcard can be used on the ‘buurtbus’ (fixed price).

How to reach Oudewater by boat
Oudewater is on the board of the ‘Hollandse Ijssel’ river. It has four mooring sites, three of which may be occupied for long stay.
This mooring sites starts at the lower side towing path near the riding school ‘Hollandse IJsselruiter’. This is a ‘green’ mooring site with good provisions. The site has a length of 120 meters and as such is open to about ten ships with a maximum stay of 3 x 24 hours.
This site starts at the Arminiusplein and ends at the old sailing barge ‘Onthaestingh’, this being the last place before the bridge. This mooring site has a brick quay with solid boulders. It is about 80 meters long and offers place for about seven ships for a maximum stay of 3 x 34 hours.
This site on the south bank of the river starts where housing ends. It is a mooring site with good provisions. It is about 80 meters long and offers a place for some seven ships for a maximum stay of 3 x 24 hours.
This site is open only for low boats and barges, as the bridges cannot open. Mooring is allowed in the third part (beyond the second bridge) along the brick quay, which may be high for low sloops to disembark. Maximum stay is 2 hours.
